Ow, my back hurts. Spent the morning assembling a rack with 2 server machines, 1 firewall, 1 KVM, and prepping for a huge switch and Cable runs. Was glad to finally be doing something at work. Hopefully my stuff will be cleared up soon and I can start my real work. In the meantime I will continue doing what I can around the office. Home life is going good too. Got a lot more unpacked last night. I can actually walk in the den. Now it’s just a matter of finding a place to put everything. what a pain. Most of this stuff I don’t even want anymore. You know you just start having things to have them. Now I don’t want them anymore. I invite people from all over to Come take my stuff away!!! (: Maybe I should start selling stuff on E-bay. Anyone want an old 28.8 ISA modem?

Well Today is the day that I finally update my Webcam page and add a little more content. I haven’t yet ported over my Blog from the PDA, so I will add those entries to this one when I get the chance. The big change has happened! We are at the dawn of a new era! I have officially left the USAF and started my new life, Below is the mass e-mail I sent out that explains everything
Friends, Romans, Countrymen! Lend me your E-mail application.
It’s been far too long since I have done one of these updates that I almost don’t know where to start. Some of you know what’s been going on with me and some of you are completely clueless. The information held within this e-mail may come as a complete shock to some of you so I will ask that those with known heart problems or expectant mothers (erin), please consult a Doctor before continuing.
February marks a Huge transition in my life. As many of you know, I joined the USAF on Feb 14 1995, so this coming valentines day will mark my 9th year in the Military. This coming 19th of Feb marks my Last day in the military as well. Thats right, I have stood all I can stands and I can’t stands no more! Most of you know that I am not a very military minded person, Many of you with whom I have worked with can testify to that. I don’t regret any of the time I have served and would join again in a heartbeat if I were in the same situation I was in. But I really feel like I have outgrown the Military and there are much bigger and better things out there for me. One of those bigger better things just happens to be my new Job. I now work for a company called Crucial Security. They are an IT security company with a nice healthy contract to a Govt. Agency. I am working in the Infrastructure Dept, Mostly hardware repairs and network setup. I love it. The Job is based in Fairfax/Chantilly Area in Northern VA. Still pretty close to DC.
Of course what would a new Job be without a Fabulous new apartment! I couldn’t stand the 2 hour commute from where I was living (not that the military would have let me stay there) so I found a Nice little 2 bdr 1 bath apartment only 5 miles from the new job. The commute is 8 min. The most traffic I see now is a school crossing. (: For those who are interested, my new address will be included at the bottom of this e-mail.
More New things!! New home means new means of Contact! I have a new e-mail address, but to be honest, I think I am just going to use This one for Major attachments and Such, For much of my regular corresponding I would like to use my hotmail, changing addresses is such a pain you know.
So:
(Omitted)
I also have a new phone number, It’s my cell phone. I don’t plan on getting a home number, don’t see a need for it. 703-xxx-xxxx
One last major news breaking item. You may have noticed that I said I got a small apartment. “But Steve, How can you and your wife live in such a small apartment.” Easy, No more wife. Yes, the rumors are true, I am single yet again. Heather and I realized that Both of us had grown as people in the last 6 years, Sadly It was in different directions. The Good times we had together were slowly becoming grayed out by the bad times. So we have decided it’s in our best interests if we split up. She is still working for the Govt in South DC and has a nice apartment in Alexandria. We still talk a lot and I consider her one of my best friends.
And so I venture forth into a new life. Unto the world a new Steve is born! (maybe I should change my name too, go by Steffan or something)
I welcome your comments, you words of advice, and your updates!
Take care my Friends,
